Plastic surgery has helped countless women look and feel great. From liposuction and nose jobs to face lifts, these procedures continue to soar in global popularity, because they can help women enhance their appearance, while boosting confidence levels and self-worth. Whether you're looking to shed excess weight or secure a more contoured jaw line, plastic surgeons can turn your dreams into reality.

Plastic Surgery Fact and Figures

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), 15.6 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the United States in 2014, an increase of 3 percent from 2013, and over 5.8 million reconstruction surgeries were done in 2015, up 1 percent from 2014. The demand for plastic surgery continues to grow across the nation, mainly due to new technologies and medical advancements. In fact, ASPS President Scot Glasberg, MD, said that these new technologies are "resulting in a wider array of options for patients."

A recent study conducted by the ASPS also highlighted the effects of plastic surgery on a woman's psyche. The study evaluated 225 women that underwent breast augmentation surgery. According to the results, 98 percent of the respondents felt that the procedures met or exceeded their expectations. The women surveyed also reported improvements in self-esteem and quality of life after surgery.

Eighty-five percent of the women even rated their new breast sizes as "just right." Furthermore, 75 percent of those surveyed rated their breast firmness as "just right." When asked to rate the overall result on a scale of 1-10, over half of the patients gave the procedures a perfect 10.

These figures only highlight the fact that plastic surgery can help women of all ages improve their physical and mental well-being. You no longer have to struggle with low self-esteem and can truly get the body you deserve.

Cosmetic Surgery Trends Increasing

While plastic surgery has a positive impact on a woman's psyche, the numbers do not lie. No truer is this than when it comes to cosmetic surgery trends, which have also seen increases across the board:

  • Buttock augmentation: Up 15 percent from 2014
  • Liposuction and liposculpture: Up 5 percent from 2015

  • Soft tissue fillers: Up 3 percent from 2015

  • Laser hair removal: Up 3 percent from 2014

  • Breast reductions: Up 29 percent since 2000

  • Chemical peel procedures: Up 7 percent from 2014

If you are ready to improve your appearance and increase confidence, now is the right time to book a consultation with a plastic surgeon. From thigh lifts and eye jobs to removing laugh lines and crow's feet, plastic surgery will truly restore your natural glow, both inside and out.
